Momma Knows Best: In Loving Memory of Bernice

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing away of Benjamin Bernice Gho. He used to front several local gay bar, namely MOX and Does Your Mother Know (DYMK) and a “mother” to many.

We in gayhealth.sg who have known him closely are still trying to come to terms with this sad, tragic news. We have known Ben for many years and are devastated to learn of his passing.

Getting your PrEP online

If HIV is going to get inside the cells, it does so quickly; it takes about 30 minutes. However, it does not start to multiply for several hours. PrEP and PEP work by stopping this process. Without drug, HIV infection is established within a few days so it’s a big advantage to have drug in the tissues BEFORE a risk, but it is needed most in the few days AFTER the risk.

The Food and Drug Administration has relaxed its 32-year ban on blood donations from gay men. The ban was originally introduced in 1983 to protect people receiving blood transfusions from people infected with HIV.
