Gayhealth is a unique entity within AfA that built itself as a community based organization, that wants to help improve the sexual health and services to Gay/Bi/MSM community through advocacy and empowerment.
Getting To 0
To keep up with the ever evolving needs of the gay community, we overhauled Singapore’s pioneering and most comprehensive Men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM) Programme (what a mouthful) to gayhealth.sg. With one objective in mind: to achieve zero.
Community Based
We believe in a collaborative approach that involves people throughout the entire process of program or project planning & execution. The unique strengths that each person brings help us build a resilient and adaptive community.
What We Do
With our team of dedicated volunteers, we pull together individuals, families, friends and businesses to form a system of care that provides relevant and holistic services and programmes so you can be in the pink of health.
About AFA
Formed in 1988, the organisation has been instrumental at raising public awareness of HIV/AIDS and provision of support and assistance for persons living with HIV infection. 28 years on, AfA continues to be a lead and deliver complex prevention and care programmes in a globalised and connected society that requires greater coordination and collaboration.
We are doing it better as we move into a new era of HIV/AIDS .
Meet The Team
Chronos Kwok
Chronos first started as a volunteer with AFA way back in 2005. He was a counsellor at the anonymous testing service and also conducted talks at schools as well as military bases to increase awareness for HIV prevention.
In his current role, he hopes to work closely with the MSM community to implement effective programmes that contribute towards reducing the rate of new infections and advocate against HIV-related stigma.
Calvin Tan
Calvin has been an HIV advocate ever since he was diagnosed with HIV during his late teens. Over the years he has opened to the public on the discrimination he has faced; both from others and from himself. As a result, he has become a voice for his community – the youth and the stigmatized.
We are a team of dedicated advocates, ready to do what ever it takes to achieve the mission of Zero. So don’t be shy, get in touch! If you would like to join our team as a volunteer, drop us an e-mail today!
